Seller's Comments and Description:

Listing is for a vintage 4-piece teapot set (3 cup teapot with lid, creamer and open sugar bowl) made by Carrigaline Pottery Company in Cork, Ireland. Shamrocks (or clover) are set against light cream backgrounds and gold trim.

Carrigaline Pottery Company was a pottery manufacturer founded in the village of Carrigaline in County Cork, Ireland, in 1928. For much of the mid-20th century the pottery was the main source of employment in the village. The company closed in 1979.

Holds about 18 liquid ounces (3 6-ounce cups)
7 inches long handle to spout
4 1/2 inches tall with lid

Sugar bowl
3 inches in diameter
2 1/4 inches tall

4 inches long handle to spout
2 1/4 inches tall

All items are in very good gently used condition with no chips or cracks. The sugar bowl has a small amount of crazing inside on the bottom, the teapot and creamer do not have crazing. The gold edging is in excellent condition with no wear. I do not see any surface wear on the pieces - the set appears to be unused.

"Ireland" stamped on bottom of sugar bowl, along with "Carrigaline Pottery Co LTD Cork Ireland." Bottom of creamer mark "Carrigaline Pottery Co LTD Cork Ireland;" teapot bottom is stamped "Carrigaline Ireland."
