Seller's Comments and Description:
Listing is for a group of Spode's English Lavender China: 3 luncheon plates (8-7/8 inches diameter), 2 dessert/pie plates (6-7/8 inches diameter) and 2 saucers (5-1/2 inches diameter).
Overall the pieces are in great shape. Utensil wear is minimal. One luncheon plate has a chip underneath the rim which appears to be production-related because it is under the glaze. Another luncheon plate has a small area of bubbling in the bowl and the other luncheon plate has bubbling on the rim (along with a small dark mark also under the glaze). I believe the bubbling is also production-related. Please see photos for details. I can provide additional photos upon request.
English Lavender was in production between 1958 and 1965. This pattern has been referred to as a "blue body" by a number of online resources.
The maker's marks read "Spode's English Lavender England C" (which I've seen as dating between 1960 and 1979) and "Spode's English Lavender England."
